Chaque année, les Amis du Musée organisent un grand dîner de levée de fonds dans le but d’acquérir une œuvre pour le Musée. Ce dîner, devenu un événement incontournable de l’agenda culturel, se tient toujours la veille du vernissage de la foire d’art contemporain, et regroupe plusieurs centaines d’acteurs nationaux et internationaux du monde de l’art contemporain (collectionneurs, institutionnels, haut fonctionnaires, marchands, artistes, entreprises mécènes etc.).
Créé en 2008, ses bénéfices sont déterminants pour l’enrichissement des collections du Musée et permettent au public aujourd’hui d’apprécier les œuvres de Christopher Wool, Albert Oehlen, François Morellet, Peter Doig, Philippe Parreno, Jimmie Durham, Tacita Dean, Danh Vo, André Derain, Loris Gréaud, Emilio Vedova, Allen Jones, Otobong Nkanga, Dana Schutz ou encore Rebecca Warren en 2024.
